Pregnancy work out video?

November 30, 2009

Looking for some suggestions on a video that would be safe to do while pregnant. I would like some mild cardio ..I am not too into yoga. I have some walk away the pounds videos but I am looking for something specifically for a pregnant woman. I am very active regularly but I have not been working out pre pregnancy so this would be something new to my body so I would like something mild.
Thanks!

I have this one, and it’s pretty darn easy for me. It is a little cheesy sometimes… but what workout video isn’t?? Lol. I like this one enough, and it has good reviews on the site too, so I’m not the only one. *shrug* Here’s a link so you can check it out.

My only suggestion is, make sure you drink lots of water and keep a fan on you in your living room or wherever you do it. It’s waaaaay easier to overheat once you’re pregnant. I never used to before, but I have to take a lot more breaks when I exercise now, and drink sooo much water. Have fun, and good luck!

EDIT::
I just wanted to comment on what was said by others… Drs now agree that it is ABSOLUTELY SAFE to exercise, unless you are having complications, so don’t worry about that. Just make sure you don’t overdo it, and if you’re not used to exercise, that you gradually build yourself up to a good workout, even if that means starting w/ 5 mins a day and working up! Also, prenatal exercise videos are much safer because most adjust to the trimester you are in, and that is absolutely necessary.
Oh and, if you DO get that video I linked to you, the salsa dance is pretty fun and easy to do. :)

    Ask your ob, some do not think exercize is a good idea while you are pregnant, and if they do think it is ok you need to be sure what you are going to do is best for you. Rent some videos from a video store or buy them at a store and keep the receipt. Take them to your ob and ask which one would be best take the rest back. When it comes to a baby it is better safe than sorry.

    actually, I have found very few that I like. Moms Into Fitness series is pretty good. Other than that I do Walk Away The Pounds, Denise Austin (the regular cardio workouts), and videos off of exercise tv website. I have found I feel better doing those instead of Pregnancy Videos. I just do modified versions of the exercises that require jumping, or sudden movement changes.
